Understand the key onsite processes relevant to battery reutilisation.

Battery identification, pack repair precautions and ‘State of Health’ (SOH).

Understand the electrical installation operations at a site when installing reutilised batteries.

Site delivery and placement, reconstruction, post-install testing, methods of monitoring and the ‘finalise’ process of commissioning.

Understand the environmental and sustainability impacts relating to the decommissioning and reutilisation of battery packs.

Environmental regulations including Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE), Authorised Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations, Carbon footprint declaration, Recycled content declaration, Minimum levels of recycled content.

Demonstrate the procedures of testing and decommissioning a reclaimed battery pack.

Use of PPE, preparation of work area, risk assessment, tools and equipment, evaluate reclaimed battery pack, interpret evaluation results, decommission a battery pack and recording of findings.
